DMCI Homes acquires property in Las Pinas

LAS PINAS, Philippines — A rich vein of history throbs at the old district of Las Piñas and it is known as the city’s “Historical Corridor.” Spanning an area composed of Brgy. Manuyo, Daniel Fajardo, E. Aldana, Ilaya, Pulang Lupa, and Zapote, the district has been preserved and refashioned to reflect a Spanish theme, reminiscent of a European countries which preserve their old cities.

As one of the earliest settlement sites during the Spanish era, the former barrio of Las Piñas continues to pay homage to its past through this historical corridor. At one corner of Zapote though, a prime tract of land is undergoing its own redevelop¬ment, from a venue for industry into a residential property that will soon host a thriving community of young families.

The 1.8-hectare of land was acquired by the country’s leading developer of resort-inspired communities, DMCI Homes. The residential condominium project’s name is also a sentimental reference to the Spanish vibe: “Maricielo Villas.”

For the city of Las Piñas, Maricielo Villas is already the developer’s second project after the successful Ohana Place, located on the other side of the city, along the Alabang- Zapote Road. On the other hand, Maricielo Villas will rise on the corner of Quirino Ave. and Casimiro Avenue, to service the prospective market of residents and upgraders around the area.

Reynaldo Salazar, DMCI Homes Director for Business Development, acknowledged that their company is enjoying an esteemed reputation in the industry, especially among land owners interested in selling their property. This has become beneficial to the company’s initiatives in land banking and acquiring properties such as the present site of Maricielo Villas.

“We acquired this property which was previously owned by Francisco Motors. We are lucky to secure this land because we do not have too many big properties left within Manila,” he said.

Maricielo Villas will rise on an 18,522-sqm lot. The development will house five Spanish Mission-themed, medium-rise buildings, blending with the establishments in the area all conforming to the motif of 18th century colonial period.

The project will be the first me¬dium-rise development in the area comprised of four medium-rise buildings with five residential floors and one medium-rise building with four residential floors.
